Key Account Manager

As a Key Account Manager, you will act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration. You will analyze sales data, identify growth opportunities, and develop strategic account plans. Strengthening relationships with customer stakeholders will be a key focus of this role.

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

• Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in key account management, sales, or business development.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Teams
• Ability to travel up to 35-40%.

SUMMARY

As the Key Account Manager, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing and expanding relationships with our key customer(s). You will be responsible for implementing strategic initiatives, resolving issues, analyzing sales data, and identifying opportunities for business development.

Additionally, you will serve as a liaison between the customer and Conductix-Wampfler (CXW), ensuring effective communication and collaboration on joint projects and initiatives. This person will (1) work with top CXW management throughout the Americas and its European counterparts and (2) be responsible for networking and developing relationships with top management at the assigned customer accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Primary Point of Contact: Act as the main liaison between the customer(s) and CXW for day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless communication, coordination, and collaboration on joint projects.
  • Communication Facilitation: Ensure effective and transparent communication between both organizations, supporting smooth execution of joint initiatives, including projects, tasks, orders, and other agreed-upon objectives.
  • Customer Advocacy: Serve as the champion and advocate for the customer while upholding the company's best interests.
• Sales Analysis: Evaluate product sales within key accounts to identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and introducing new products.
  • Business Insight Reporting: Monitor and report changes in the customer(s)' business, such as sales trends, management shifts, and organizational updates, to CXW internally.
  • Annual Business Review: Conduct on-site annual business reviews with account(s) to assess progress and set future goals.
  • Special Pricing Management: Strategically manage special pricing, balancing competitive market rates with company profit objectives to ensure sustainable business growth.
  • Product Performance: Identify underperforming products and develop strategies to enhance their market traction and profitability.
  • Revenue Growth: Implement strategies to maximize revenue growth and profitability within the assigned key accounts.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and execute strategic account plans aligned with company objectives.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key personnel at the assigned customer account(s).
  • Consultative Selling: Employ a consultative selling approach with key contacts at the assigned customer(s) to identify needs and recommend suitable products, solutions, or services.
  • Product Development Collaboration: Work with the product development team to tailor offerings to meet the specific needs of the account(s).
• Travel Requirements: This role requires occasional travel, typically around once per quarter, with potential for additional trips based on business needs.
• Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by the business.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, which are critical for daily interactions with Inside Sales, Outside Sales, other internal departments, and customers. The role requires troubleshooting, effectively communicating, and resolving issues in collaboration with other parties.

• Microsoft Outlook: Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook is essential, as it is the primary communication tool with both internal and external customers. The candidate must be capable of composing emails independently without reliance on pre-written scripts.
• Microsoft Teams: The candidate should be comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily communications, including chat functionality, video calls, and screen sharing.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• A bachelor's degree in business, business administration, or a degree in a related field, is required. Relevant experience, or time in a similar role, will also be qualified.
• Proven experience in key account management, sales, or business development using a consultative selling approach.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Ability to draw and interpret graphs on Excel and similar software packages.
